September 2020 Virtual Luncheon

Our September speakers were Terri Axford, Monroe County School Superintendent and Harry Russell, Monroe County School Executive Director of Personnel and Leadership.

We started the meeting with announcements and introductions from the attendees.

Thank you to Marine Lab and Sarah Egner for bringing us this amazing presentation in our Professional Development series - Secrets of the Mangroves. Learn about the mangroves in the Florida Bay and some of the critters who call them home.

Meet the Primary Candidates Virtual Mixer - August 12th, 2020

Upper Keys BPW hosted a virtual mixer as an opportunity to meet the candidates in the upcoming Primary Election on August 18, 2020.
The event was moderated by President Suzi Youngberg. Technical assistance was provided by immediate past President Ilja Chapman and Board Secretary Jill Kuehnert. The event was planned and organized by the Public Policy Committee chaired by Gina Boilini. We were fortunate to have most of the primary candidates join us! In attendance in order of the ballot: Democratic Candidates for State Senator District 39: Javier E. Fernandez Daniel "Dan" Horton-Diaz Republican Candidates for Representative in Congress District 26: Carlos Gimenez Republican Candidates for State Attorney 16th Judicial Circuit: Mark E. Ward Republican Candidates for State Representative 120: Rhonda Rebman Lopez Alexandria Suarez Republican Candidates for County Commissioner, Dist. 5: Robby Majeska Republican Candidates for State Committeeman: Stephen Hammond Casey Cass Scheu Thanks to all of the candidates and everyone who attended. The Education Foundation of the Florida Federation of Business and Professional Women’s Clubs, Inc. (Education Foundation of BPW/FL) was organized in 1965 as a 501(c)(3). Its purpose is to make available to young women an opportunity to pursue higher learning.

The concept was originally realized by building scholarship houses for women on Florida state university campuses. Scholarship houses provide “a home away from home” for female students who have a demonstrated financial need and outstanding academic records.

BPW/FL Breast Cancer Fund

Breast Cancer Scholarship Fund

BPW/FL proudly administers a Breast Cancer Scholarship Fund, which provides $250 scholarships for men and women fighting breast cancer. Through a legislative advocacy program as well as monetary support to breast cancer patients, BPW not only makes a positive impact on the present, but on the future as well.

Any BPW/FL member in good standing may request a disbursement for any person, regardless of BPW membership, who has been diagnosed with breast cancer, in accordance with the approved guidelines.

Members should visit the Members-Only Login section of the Florida BPW website.
